The story behind Proqura

Two friends.
One problem.
A better way to build.

Proqura started with two engineers from Mumbai and Jaipur who saw the same problem from different sides: manufacturers were still running critical procurement work through spreadsheets, messages, calls and disconnected systems.

How we met

It started in Rajasthan.

Mukesh came from Mumbai. Dheeraj came from Jaipur. We met after Mukesh got admission in Rajasthanand that meeting eventually became a friendship, then a partnership, and finally Proqura.

Dheeraj studied Computer Science. Mukesh studied Mechanical Engineering. Different backgrounds, but the same curiosity about how things work and how they can be made better.

During COVID, Mukesh got the time to go deeper into coding and software. Dheeraj was already building his own path in technology and startups. We kept learning, building and comparing notes.

Why Proqura exists

We didn't start with a software idea. We started with a real problem.

While working close to manufacturing and ERP operations, we saw how much time companies lost trying to move procurement from requirement to purchase. Information lived in too many places. Approvals were slow. Follow-ups were manual. And finishing a product could depend on whether one person remembered the next step.

That experience made the question simple: what if procurement could actually work with the business, instead of becoming another layer of work?
